A professional football player from Brazil, Liedson Muniz plays as a striker. In 1996, Liedson began his professional career at the Pocoes club in the lower divisions of Brazilian football. He was part of the club for four seasons, moving to Prudentopolis Esporte Clube in 2000. With 15 goals in five games, Muniz found a place to play at Coritiba, in 2001-02.

He played 29 games for the club, scoring an incredible 20 games in that period and earning a contract from Flamengo for 2002-03. In 2003, he moved to Corinthians after just 24 games, having scored 14 goals. In 2003, Liedson spent very little time, only 18 games, during which he scored 10 goals before moving to Sporting Clube de Portugal in 2003 itself, after winning the Sao Paolo State League that year.

From 2003 to 2011, Liedson stayed in Portugal, playing over 310 games and scoring an incredible 173 goals for the Portuguese side.

The Sporting side, led by Liedson, went on to win the 2006-07 and 2007-08 Portuguese Cup and came second in 2007-08 and 2008-09. In 2007 and 2008, Liedson’s Sporting came second in the Portuguese Super Cup. However, it was on an individual level that Liedson shone – he won the league’s Golden Boot award in 2004-05 and 2006-07.

After completing his stint in Portugal, Liedson returned to Brazil and, again, signed with the Corinthians. In his 40-odd games with the Brazilian team, he’s already helped them win the 2011 Serie A title as well as scored 22 times for the team.

At the international level Liedson chose to play for Portugal, instead of Brazil, and has made 14 appearances for the team with 4 goals to his name, since 2009.
