Felipe Monteiro Diogo, or Sodinha, is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a midfielder. In 2005, Sodinha signed up with Paulista Futebol Clube but was too young to be given a first team contract. A couple of years later, he joined Campo Grande Atletico Clube before being loaned out to Udinese, in Italy.
The Italian team decided to convert that loan move into a permanent deal, bringing the promising 18-year old to the first team.
Sodinha’s main role, now, was to gain experience and he went on loan moves. The first stop was Bari, where he only managed to play 4 times in 2008-09. In 2009, he was loaned out to the lower division side, Paganese Calcio 1926, before being loaned out to Calcio Portogruaro later the same year.
With just a handful of appearances under his belt, Sodinha entered the final season of his contract with Udinese, but still hadn’t done enough to make a spot in the high-flying first team. He went to U.S. Triestina Calcio, his last team in Italy so far, and left without making a single first team appearance for the club.
In 2012, Sodinha returned to Brazil to sign with Ceara Sporting Club, with the hopes of putting his European experience to better use.
