Fernando Henrique dos Anjos is a professional Brazilian football player who plays as a goalkeeper. An extremely promising player in his youth days, Fernando was initially noticed at the Fluminense youth academy, in 2001-02. He was named to the Brazilian Under-20 squad, where he was the first choice keeper for three seasons. He earned 26 caps with the Under-20 national team during this period, winning the 2003 FIFA Under-20 World Cup as well.
In the midst of these three seasons with the Under-20 teams, Fernando was called up to the first team at Fluminense, where he spent eight seasons. After initially starting as the second choice keeper, Fernando worked his way into the first team and ended up playing almost 145 games in those 8 seasons.
He helped Fluminense win the 2005 Taca Rio title, the 2005 Rio de Janeiro State League title, and the 2007 Brazilian Cup.
In 2011, after his contract expired, Fernando decided to move to Ceara Sporting Clube, where he has been the sharing the first team place with Adilson. He has made just 23 appearances for Ceara. At the international level, Fernando does have one cap for the Brazilian national team, but after that one-off appearance in 2004, fate hasn’t been kind on this fantastic goalkeeper.
