Heleno dos Santos
Heleno dos Santos Alves is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a midfielder. Heleno began his youth career at Sao Vicente, in 1998-99, but his senior debut would come , in 2000, with Rio Branco. After a single season with the club, Heleno moved on to play for America Futebol Clube in 2002-03 and then, in 2004-05, signed with Vila Nova Futebol Clube.
While playing for Vila Nova, Heleno became a part of the 2005 Campeonato Goiano title winning team. He moved onto Santos, in 2005-06, and won the league title with a fantastic Santos side. That said, Heleno was hardly a regular member of the starting line-up playing in teams that had too many quality players ahead of him.
His big break would come when signed with Sport Club do Recife in 2007. Heleno played 26 games that season, starting most of them, and was extremely influential in his performance. In 2007-08, Vila Nova became his club as Heleno moved back to the team where he won the title. In 2009, he moved to Ceara Sporting Clube where he continues his struggles to play regularly at the highest level of Brazilian football.
