A tall central defender with a towering presence in the box, Fabio Ferreira da Silva is a professional Brazilian football player. In 2003-04, Fabio was part of the Corinthians youth team and made his way into the first team at the age of 20. Although he struggled for a first team place in the initial parts of his tenure at the club, he slowly got into place and after the 2005 Serie A winning campaign, he was used more as a substitute. By the end of his contract, he had played just 47 games for the club although there were a couple of loan deals in 2006.
Noroeste was the first club in 2006, where Fabio played 17 games before moving onto Juventude for another 28 games to end the year.
In 2009, however, he left Corinthians to go to Gremio but the move didn’t work out and he wasn’t getting any playing time. So Fabio decided to move out to Esporte Clube Vitoria in 2009. After 19 games in 2009, he moved to Botafogo in 2010 and the struggle to get into the first team has continued. He has only managed 26 appearances and a single goal since his move to the club.
