Willian Thiego
A professional football player from Brazil, Willian Thiego de Jesus plays as a central defender. Playing for a small club, Club Sportivo Sergipe, Thiego’s youth career was off to a flyer. Between 2004 and 2006, he set the stage alight and everyone was finding out about this wonder kid at the back. He got into the first team at the local club and Gremio decided to bring him in.
However, Thiego would need to come to terms with playing at the highest level and that meant, playing at the Gremio youth academy for a couple of seasons. Thiego got accustomed to the playing style and pace of the game and was moved into the first team squad in 2007. For the next three seasons, Thiego would be in and out of the side, playing around 25 games and even scoring once for the team.
He was part of the team that went on to win the 2007 Campeonato Gaucho title.
In 2010, Gremio loaned Thiego out to Kyoto Sanga FC in Japan, but after 10 games, he was sent back to the Brazilian outfit. Gremio sold Thiego to Esporte Clube Bahia, in 2011, where the youngster needs to establish himself for a place in the playing eleven.
