A Brazilian football player who plays as a right back, Marcos Martins dos Anjos is a professional playing in the top league in Brazil. In 2005, Marcos began his playing career at Real Salvador, a small team playing in the lower leagues. He was spotted by Cruzeiro in 2006, and for the next two seasons, he played for the Cruzeiro youth side. In 2008, Cruzeiro sent him out on loan, still as a youth-squad member, to lower division side Ipatinga before giving him a break in the first team.
In 2009, Marcos came into the Cruzeiro first team squad but was still considered some way away from being able to play at the highest level. He was sent out on loan, the same year, to Esporte Clube Itauna, where he never got a game. With the purpose of the loan deal not being served, Marcos was called back and sent out to Esporte Club Bahia in the same year.
He played regularly for the first team, making 24 appearances and even scoring two goals. Marcos had become a fan favourite of sorts, at Bahia, and when this 2007 Copa Sao Paolo de Futebol Junior title winner was called back by Cruzeiro, the fans didn’t like it at all. He spent 2010 at Avai Futebol Clube, playing 17 games but mostly as a substitute.
In 2011, Cruzeiro still believed that Marcos needed more playing time and sent him out to Esporte Clube Bahia where the team was only too eager to have him. Once again, Marcos has played regularly for the team, making 23 appearances in the year so far.
At the international level, this young fireball was named as part of the Brazil Under-20 squad but never managed to get a game with the side.
