Welton Felipe Marcos Soares is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a central defender. Felipe began his playing career at Atletico Mineiro’s youth academy. Graduating in 2006, he joined the first team but failed to find a regular playing spot. That meant Felipe had to go out on loan and Vitoria Esporte Clube was his destination in 2007.
After spending the entire season in Vitoria, Felipe returned and was sent out on a second loan spell, in as many years, to Ituiutaba in 2008. He returned to spend a season at Atletico Mineiro and got a few games under his belt but his performance was still below par for Atletico to keep him in the squad.
He was sent out on loan, in 2010, to Atletico Goianiense where he was regularly playing for the first team. After 18 games, he returned to Atletico Mineiro and got a few more appearances before going to Changchun Yatai in the Chinese first division. However, the China-trip didn’t last too long and Felipe was back in Brazil but instead of returning to his own club, he moved to Avai Futebol Clube on his fifth loan deal in five seasons.
