Emídio Rafael Augusto Silva, aka, Emidio Rafael is a Portuguese football player, who plays as a left defender for F.C. Porto team. Born in 1986, in Lisbon, Portugal, Emidio played for various major teams like Sporting CP, Casa Pia, Real Massama, Portimonense, Academica and F.C. Porto.

Even though Rafael spent six youth years with Sporting Clube de Portugal, a local team, he never represented its first team in an official way. He made his senior debut, on loan, in the third division, one season with Casa Pio A.C and another with Real Sport Clube.

In 2007, he was released by the Lions team. Later on, he was signed for Portimonense S. C in the second level, the first choice in the first season, used the following year too. In 2009-10, he got his top flight debut, with his first appearance being with Academica de Coimbra, in a 1-2 away loss against the team of S. C. Olhanense.

In the resulting off-season, Emidio rarely made it to the list of 18 in the first months at his new club, after he followed manager, Andre Villas-Boas to F.C. Porto. In 2011, he scored 2-2 draw in the Portuguese League Cup at Gil Vincente F.C. but sustained last minute injury to his foot. Due to this injury, he was sidelined for many months, finishing his first year with the northerners with 11 official games, with two goals.
