Werley

A central defender by nature, Werley is a product of the youth system at Atletico Mineiro. Almost serving as a utility defender, Werley has been known to play both in the centre of defence as well as on the right flank. His youth career started and ended at Atletico Mineiro after the youngster was noticed in the streets of Brazil.

He moved through the team and made his way up into the first team, in 2008. After struggling to get into the first team, Werley was forced to remain a part of the junior side as well as the reserves. However, sheer determination and hard work got him back into the reckoning and, today. Werley plays almost regularly, as a starter or substitute, in the Atletico Mineiro first team.
