Guilherme Santos

A fantastic defender who plays wide on the left flank, Guilherme Oliveira Santos is a professional football player from Brazil. Guilherme was noticed, for the first time, during the 2005-06 season, when he was playing for the Clube de Regattas Vasco da Gama youth squad. His rise through the youth team, into the first team squad, was phenomenal and immediately, in his first season at the club, Guilherme became a regular in the line-up.

Making 24 appearances, most of them as a substitute, Guilherme became known for his speed and ability with the ball. After just one season, the youngster was picked up by Spanish side UD Almeria, in 2008. For the next four years, Guilherme tried to make his mark in Spanish football. After an unsuccessful 2008 and 2009, he moved out to Real Valladolid on a loan-deal.

Fifteen appearances was all his loan deal could give, and Guilherme was back in Almeria to finish off 2011 at 24 caps. His career in Spain was over, for the time being, and he was on his way back to Brazil and Atletico Mineiro. Guilherme has started every single game for the club, since his return.
