Mohamed Sissoko is a Malian football player who currently features for French giants Paris Saint-Germain. He plays as a defensive midfielder.
Sissoko was born in France and started his professional football career with French club Auxerre in 2002.
After one season he moved to Spanish giants Valencia on a free transfer and won La Liga title and the UEFA Cup. However, Sissoko could play only nine games for Los Che that season, but was more regular in the following campaign when he also played for Valencia in the Champions League.
Sissoko joined Liverpool from Valencia in the summer of 2005 for a transfer of £5.3 million. He played for the Premier League giants until 2008, scoring one goal in 51 league appearances.
In 2008 he joined Italian giants Juventus for €11 million and played for them in Serie A until 2011, scoring three goals in 71 league matches. Sissoko struggled with injuries in the second half of the 2008-09 campaign as well as in 2009-10 and 2010-11.
In the summer of 2011, Paris Saint-Germain came calling and paid Juventus €7 million for Sissoko’s services.
Sissoko made his international debut for Mali in 2004 and has since been a regular player for his country, playing in over 25 matches.
