Tomoaki Makino is a professional Japanese football player playing for 1. FC Köln as a center back. He was a member of the Japan U20 national football team for FIFA U20 World Cup in 2007. He scored one goal in this match against Czech Republic.
He made his full international debut for the team of Japan on 6th January 2010 in the AFC Asian Cup qualifier match against Yemen. On January 2012, he came back to J.League and was loaned by 1. FC Koln to Urawa Reds team. He will be again coached by his former coach of Sanfrecce Hiroshima team, Mihailo Petrovic. Some of the teams that he has been a part of include Sanfrecce Hiroshima, 1. FC Koln and Urawa Red Diamonds team other than Japan national football team.
