Lewis Holtby is a Germany international football player who currently features for the Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. He plays as a central midfielder and is rated as one of the best young attacking players in Europe.
Holtby commenced his professional club football career at German side Alemannia Aachen and was on their books for two seasons, making 33 league appearances in the process. In 2009 Schalke snapped him up and he went onto become an influential player for the Royal Blues.
Holtby, who was farmed out on loan first to VfL Bochum in 2010 and Mainz for 2010-11, proved to be one of the best players for Schalke on his return and joined Tottenham in January 2013, six months before his contract at the Bundesliga outfit was due to end. He scored 10 goals in 55 league matches for Schalke.
Holtby made his international debut for Germany against Sweden in a friendly match on November 17, 2010.
