Alessandro Nesta
Alessandro Nesta is an Italian football player who plays for AC Milan and Italy’s national team. Nesta plays in centre-back position.
Nesta started to play football in SS Lazio youth academy in 1985. He joined the first team in 1993. He became the captain of SS Lazio in 1997. Alessandro won the 1998 Coppa Italia after beating A.C. Milan in the final. This was followed next year by a UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and European Super Cup in 1999. In 1999-2000 season Alessandro Nesta won the Scudetto and Coppa Italia.
Nesta has been in AC Milan since 2002 when he joined from Lazio after 193 appearances. He is widely considered to be one of the best defenders in the world and won the UEFA Champions League and the Serie A title twice.
Nesta made his international debut for Italy in 1998 and retired in 2006, making 78 appearances for his nation. He won the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany with his nation.
