Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely, better known as Alex Nimely, is a Liberian footballer who currently plays as a forward for Romanian Liga I club Viitorul Constanta.

The player is related to Liberian international Sylvanus Nimely. The forward had formerly played for the England U-20 national team but accepted a call-up to the Liberian national team in October 2016.

Nimely began his youth career with Barrack Y.C. in Liberia and trained with the team between 2003 and 2005. He switched allegiances to Mighty Barrolle for the 2005-06 season before moving on to Coton de Garoua in 2006.

He featured for a couple of seasons with his new team, helping them win the Elite One title in each of the seasons that he featured for Coton de Garoua. He impressed scouts from Manchester City during his time at Coton de Garoua and would go on to sign for the club in the summer of 2008.

However, despite being on their payroll for a good six years, Nimely would only make one league appearance for City. His only league appearance for Manchester City had come in a 6-1 thrashing of Burnley at Turf Moor on April 3, 2010.

The forward did make an appearance at Europe’s grandest stage when he featured in the first 61 minutes of City’s European Champions League clash against Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico on December 16, 2010. He was subbed off for Argentine defender Pablo Zabaleta on the occasion.

The player was moved on to Middlesbrough on loan in September 2011 and stayed at Boro for the first part of the season. His debut for Middlesbrough did not end well as they were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. He would make nine more appearances for Boro during his loan spell but none of those were starts.

Following the end of his loan spell with Middlesbrough, Nimely was loaned out to Coventry City until the end of the 2011-12 campaign. Nimely scored on his debut for Coventry as the team defeated Middlesbrough a comfortable 3-1 at the Ricoh Arena.

The following season, Nimely spent the first half of the season at his parent club where he struggled to get into the first team squad. In January 2013, the striker was loaned out to Crystal Palace with their manager Ian Holloway claiming that he had been following Nimely closely for a couple of years. Nimely would only make two appearances for the Eagles before returning to Manchester City.

Following the expiry of his contract with the Citizens in 2014, Nimely signed on with League One side Port Vale in November. However, a string of disciplinary issues that included missing training as well as training with a different club while being contracted to Port Vale saw his parent club release Nimely from his contract in May 2015.

The end of his journey at Port Vale was also the end of his journey in English football. After being out of employment for a good few months, Nimely was signed up by Romanian top flight club Poli Timisoara in February 2016 on a short term deal. He scored three goals from 10 league appearances in his only season at the club before moving to Viitorul Constanta in July 2016.
