Laurent Koscielny is a France international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Arsenal. He plays as a central defender.
Koscielny commenced his professional club football career at Guingamp in 2004 and after 41 league appearances in three years, joined Tours in the third tier of French club.
He enjoyed a productive campaign in his debut season with Tours, as he won promotion to the Ligue 2 and was named in the League 2 Team of the Season in 2008-09.
In June 2009 Lorient, then newly promoted to Ligue 1, signed Koscielny on a four-year contract for around €1.7 million. He was very impressive in the 2009-10 campaign and was snapped up by Arsenal..
Koscielny had a successful 2010-11 debut campaign in the Premier League for Arsenal and was voted as the Gunners’ fans Player of the Season. He has since continued to be impressive for the north London club.
Koscielny made his international debut for France on November 11, 2012 against the USA that they won 1-0. He was part of the France squad for the Euro 2012 finals.
