Antoine Griezmann is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward or attacking midfielder for Atlético Madrid. As of the 2025 season, he remains the talismanic figure for Atlético, having solidified his legacy as the club's all-time top goalscorer.

Antoine Griezmann was born on March 21, 1991, in Mâcon, France. The French forward stands 176 cm tall.8 Despite being rejected by several French academies in his youth due to his slight frame, he found a home at Real Sociedad in Spain, where he developed into a professional.

Griezmann is known for his calm demeanor and team-first mentality. In recognition of his sporting achievements, he was appointed a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2018.

Career

Griezmann's senior career began at Real Sociedad, where he helped the club win the Segunda División in his first season. In 2014, he moved to Atlético Madrid for a then-club record fee. Under Diego Simeone, he blossomed into a global superstar, winning the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and Supercopa de España.

He was twice nominated for the Ballon d'Or (2016, 2018), finishing third on both occasions.
