Thibaut Courtois is a Belgium international football player who currently features for the Spanish club Atletico Madrid on loan from the English and European giants Chelsea. He plays as a goalkeeper and is rated as one of the most promising young players in his position in Europe.
Courtois commenced his professional club football career at Belgian giants Racing Genk in 2009, and won the Belgian Cup in 2008-09 and the Belgian Pro League in 2010-11. He was a regular for them for two years, featuring in 41 league appearances.
In July 2011 Chelsea signed Courtois from Genk on a five-year contract but immediately loaned him out to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid to develop him. He was an instant hit in the Spanish capital, helping Atleti to fifth place in La Liga in 2011-12 and to Europa League success.
Courtois remained on loan at Atletico for the 2012-13 season as well.
Courtois made his international debut for Belgium against France on November 15, 2011 in a match that ended in a goalless draw. He became the youngest ever goalkeeper to play for his country.
