Holger Eduardo Matamoros Chunga, simply known as “Holger Matamoros,” is a professional football player who was born on January 4, 1985 in Ecuador. Matamoros is best known for being a member of Ecuador’s national team as well as for being a midfielder of the Barcelona Sporting Club.
Matamoros has been playing football since he was a small child, and ever since he could sign a contract, he has been with Club Deportivo Cuenca. This was started in 2006 and ended in 2010.
Matamoros was a part of the premiere squad that played a part in the Copa Libertadores 2006. In fact, throughout his stint with Cuenca, Matamoros was known to be a key player especially during his later years with the club. Matamoros was also a part of the team that played against Estudiantes, and won. By 2011, Matamoros signed on with Barcelona Sporting Club, an Ecuadorian club that offered Matamoros a three year contract.
Aside from his club career, Matamoros is also a part of the national team of Ecuador, although he has only played in one game so far.
