Édgar Benítezimage:Édgar Benítez |Édgar Benítez or Édgar Milciades Benítez Santander is a Paraguayan football player who plays as a striker for C. F. Pachuca in the Mexican Primera Division. Till date, he has made 15 international caps and scored one international goal. His first international match was with Saudi Arabia team in 2008. The major teams that he was a part of include 12 de Octubre, Libertad and Sol de America.
Since 2009, he was not known as a starter for the Pachuca team, and used as a substitute for every match. He participated regularly in the matches in Bicentenario 2010 and by 20 February 2010, he scored twice in one game against Jaguares de Chiapas, with Pachuca securing a 2-2 score.
Due to his remarkable performance with Sol de America team, he was called for the Paraguay national football team. He had a good debut, when he played in his first 2010 World Cup qualification match held against Peru team, with Paraguayan national team winning by 1-0.
