Paulo da Silvaimage:Paulo da Silva defender FIFA|Paulo da Silva defender FIFA full name is Paulo César da Silva Barrios is a Paraguayan football player, who plays as a defender for the Paraguayan team and also for the Sunderland team in the Premier League at present.
Having played for the Paraguay team in 1997 and in 1999 FIFA World youth championship, Paulo got easily selected for the squad of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He has been a part of the team during the qualifiers to the next World Cup match. Along with Sunderland teammate, Cristian Riveros, Paulo made to the 23 men squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Paulo played for various major teams in his football career. One is Libertad, with which, he won at the Paraguayan Primera División twice in 2002 and in 2003.
The team of Toluca for whom he played for also won several recognition and titles. These include the CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 2003, the Mexican Primera División twice, the 2005 Apertura, and the 2008 Apertura. Apart from this recognition, the team won the Campeón de Campeones twice in 2003 and in 2006.
Individually, Paulo was chosen on the CONMEBOL Best Eleven team in 2007 and was recognized as the Best player of the Mexican Primera División in 2008.
