Claudio Morelimage:Claudio Morel |Claudio Morel full name is Claudio Marcelo Morel Rodríguez and he is a Paraguayan football player. At present, he plays for Deportivo de La Coruna in Spain and as a left back player for the Paraguay national team. So far, he has made 33 international caps with his first international match being with Bolivia in 1999.
Born in Asuncion, Paraguay, Claudia stands five feet nine inches tall and a versatile defender having abundant experience in football. He started his career in football at the age of 20 with San Lorenzo, winning the 2001 Clausura championship, the Copa Mercosur in 2001 and the Copa Sudamericana in 2002.
By 2004, he shifted to Boca Juniors team, and won as many as three championships. He won the Copa Sudamericanas twice in 2004 and in 2005, the Recopa Sudamericanas twice in 2005 and in 2006 and played a crucial role as Boca won the Copa Libertadores in 2007.
Claudio made his international debut in 1999 and also played in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers. Other than that, he played in the qualifying matches for the 2010 World Cup. Individually, Claudio won the Paraguayan Footballer of the year title in 2008.
