Antolín Alcaraz> or Antolín Alcaraz Viveros is a Paraguayan football player who plays for the Paraguay team and also presently for the Wigan Athletic team in the Premier League, as a central defender. Till date, the defender has made 10 international caps and scored one international goal. His first international match was against Oman in 2008.
In 2008, at the age of 26, Alcaraz got selected for joining the Paraguayan national team. Later on, he was picked for the squad at the 2010 FIFA World cup. He started as a group stage opener against Italy in his 17th international, scoring from a set piece in a 1-1 draw in Cape Town. Other than this, he played all of the matches and minutes for the concluding quarterfinals.
The major teams that he has played for so far include Fiorentina from 2002 to 2003 and SC Beira-Mar from 2003 to 2007. Other than these two teams, he also played for Teniente Farina, Racing Club, Club Brugge and Wigan Athletic.
Whilst with Beira-Mar team, Antolin made 112 appearances and scored five goals. From 2007 to 2010, he played for Club Brugge, and made 68 appearances scoring 5 goals.
