Apart from this team, he also plays for the Uruguayan team as a defensive midfielder. This Montevidean born player spent his teenage years with Montevideo Wanderers, a team of Uruguay, where he made his first division debut with the team as an 18 year old in 1999.
Sebastian made his international debut during the Copa America in 2001 for Uruguay team. In the 63rd minute he entered the pitch with 1-0 victory against Bolivia, adding two more appearances in the competition. After a big break of five years, he scored his first goal in Oslo for the Charruas in 2008 with 2-2 friendly match with Norway. Sebastian got selected for the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa and played once for the semifinal match. He played for two minutes in the group stage with 0-0 draw against France.
