He can play both as a defender and as a central midfield. Moreover, he was a part of the All Whites squad that took part at the FIFA World Cup in 2010.
Jeremy John Christie was born in 1983 in Whangarei and stands five feet eleven inches tall. During his youth career, he played for Whangarei City and Hikurangi. Other teams that he played for professionally were Barnsley in 2002, New Zealand Knights FC team from 2002 to 2006, Perth Glory from 2006 to 2007 and Wellington Phoenix from 2007 to 2009.
Till date, he has made 24 international caps and scored one international goal. His first international match was against Australia in 2005. This tough tackling player started his career initially as a captain of the team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 1999. These matches were hosted by New Zealand and Jeremy played in three group stage matches against Uruguay, Poland and the United States. After this, he made several appearances for the New Zealand U-20 national team and the U-23 level matches between 2001 and 2005.
