Andrew Victor Boyens> is a New Zealand football player who presently plays for the New York Red Bulls team in Major League Soccer game. He also represented the national team at international levels.
Andrew was included in the New Zealand team for a number of matches to be played against Malaysia team in 2006. However, he didn’t play in any of these matches. Later on that year, he played an unofficial friendly match, ironically his national team debut, as a substitute during the 5-1 loss to Sevilla FC, a Spanish Club. Till date, he made 15 international caps.
It was in 2007, when he made his debut in international game, with a 2-2 draw against Wales. Subsequently, he was named in the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2009 New Zealand squad. In 2010, he was also named in the final 23 men squad to compete at the FIFA World Cup 2010. Some of the teams that he played for include Dunedin Technical (2002-03), New York Red Bulls (2008), Otago United (2006-07) and Toronto FC (2007).
Career Highlights
Whilst with the New York Red Bulls, he won the Major League Soccer Western Conference Championship once in 2008.
