James Bannatyne
James Bannatyneimage:James Bannatyne goalkeeper |James Bannatyne is an association football goalkeeper who plays in the New Zealand Football Championship for Team Wellington. He represents the national team as a backup to Mark Paston and Glen Moss. He played one season for the Football Kingz in the National Soccer League.
Born in 1975, James stands five feet five inches tall. He made his full All Whites debut in a 2-0 victory over Cook Island in 2001. He has been playing football with team since 1988. Some of the teams that he played for include Petone, Yeading, Miramar Rangers, Canterbury United and even Team Wellington team.
Included in the New Zealand squad for the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2009 in South Africa, he was also named in the final of the 23 men squad to compete at the FIFA World Cup 2010. He retired from the international football games after returning from the World Cup.
From 2001 to 2010, he is playing for the national team and has made 3 appearances. From 2006 onwards, he is with the Team Wellington, making 25 appearances and one goal. He scored one goal for Yeading team in one season, 2000-01.
