Born in Xanthi in Greece, Vasilios Torosidis> is a professional football player who plays at present for the Greek Super League club, Olympiacos. Other than that, he also plays for the Greece national football team. Standing six feet two inches tall, Torosidis is more popular for his exceptional qualities as a combative, skilled and a powerful defender.
It was in 2008 that he had a chance to make his international cap in the UEFA Euro qualifying match against Turkey, where he showed his professional skills. Vasilios had great successful year with the Piraeus giants, and won three league titles, two Greek Super Cups and two Greek cup awards.
In 2010, he managed to score the crucial goal in the World Cup group stage match held against Nigeria team, giving Greece a 2-1 victory, which ironically was their first ever victory at a World Cup. Till date, Vasilios has made 29 international caps and 3 international goals.
So far, Vasilios has won the Greek Super League in 2007, 2008 an in 2009. His team won the Greek Cup in 2008 and in 2009. Other than these honors, he won the Greek Super Cup in 2007.
