Dimitris Salpigidis> is a Greek football striker who is playing at present for PAOK FC and the Greek national team. Standing 1.72 meter in height, Dimitris jersey number is 9.
Some of the teams for whom he has played professionally include PAOK (1999), Larissa (2000), PAOK (2000), AO Kavala (2001-02) and PAOK (2002 to 2006).
Dimitris has made almost 38 appearances and scored four goals for the Greece national football team. This even includes the winning goal in the away match he played of the FIFA world cup qualification play offs in 2010 against the Ukraine team. This sent Greece team through to the final match. It was on 17th June 2010, in the FIFA World Cup group stage tournament played against Nigeria, Dimitris scored the team’s first ever World cup goal, with a shot that deflected off in Lukman Haruna.
Whilst playing for the PAOK FC team, he won the Greek Football Cup in 2002-03 and with the Panathinaikos team; the titles won were the Super League Greece in 2009-10 and the Greek Football Cup in 2010.
Individually, Dimitris won the title of being the Greek Super League top scorer once in 2006. Apart from this title, he also won the honor of being the Greek Footballer of the year twice in 2008 and in 2009.
