Nikos Spiropoulosimage:Nikos Spiropoulos |Nikos Spiropoulos is a Greek professional football player who at present plays for the Panathinaikos FC in the Super League Greece. For two million Euros, Nikos moved to Panathinaikos team in 2008. He started 2008-09 season as the main left back for Panathinaikos FC team.
He began his football career in 2001 with PAS Giannina team and after three season, he started playing for Panionios. Later on, he signed with Panathinaikos, where unfortunately he was tested positive for an elevated T/E ration and got initially suspended for two years. However, later this was attributed to natural causes, irrespective of which, his transfer was cancelled. After one year, he did return and played for Panionios team for four seasons.
Nikos is left footed and known for his combination of strength, endurance, speed and agility. This best Greek left side defender talent was however ignored by Otto Rehhagel and in 2007; he capped him, though Nikos was never in a starting lineup for the team. In 2007, he made his debut in the National Team in the 5-0 Euro 2008 qualifier defeat of Malta team.

When playing for the Panathinaikos team, Nikos won the Super League Greece in 2009-10 and the Greek Football Cup in 2010.
