Paulo Rafael de Oliveira Ramos was a professional footballer from Brazil who played as a midfielder. Ramos was born in a small Brazilian town and was picked by the Vila Nova youth academy. Ramos played for the youth team in 2001-02, before being picked by the first team in 2003.

After making the move to the senior team, Ramos was a part of the senior team at Vila Nova for seven seasons. During those years, he struggled to make the grade and was mostly a part of the reserve team during that period. In between this stint, Ramos was sent out to Gremio for some first team action.

He returned to Vila Nova at the end of the season after just 7 games. In 2007, he was sent out to Juventude for another loan spell. Ramos stayed at the club for a single season and was used in just one game, as a substitute.

On the first of September, in 2009, tragedy struck as Ramos succumbed to cardiac arrhythmia while playing with the Vila Nova squad. He was 24!
