A Peruvian footballer from Caracas, George Patrick Forsyth Sommer, began his professional football career with Alianza Lima, his current club, in 2002. The goalkeeper remained with the club for a short while, making no appearances, after which he moved to Germany, to join Borussia Dortmund II, in the same season. Forsyth remained with the club for one season, during which time he made 6 appearances with the team.

At the end of the season, Forsyth moved back to Peru and joined Atletico Universidad, and during the one season he spent there he appeared in 12 matches for the club. After his stint with the club, Forsyth then returned to Alianza Lima, where he remained till 2007. Making over 50 appearances for the club during this time, Forsyth was loaned out to Sport Boys in 2005. He stayed there till 2007, at which time he moved to Atalanta B.C., for one season. He did not appear in a single game for the club, and in 2008 he returned to his current club Alianza Lima. So far, Forsyth has made over 40 appearances for the club since then.

Apart from this, Forsyth has also had the opportunity to play for the Peruvian national football team, several times. He played for the Peruvian Under-17 national football team from 1997 till 1999, during which time he made 9 appearances for the team. From 2001 till 2002, Forsyth appeared with the Peruvian Under-20 national football team, appearing in 26 matches. In 2002, he also appeared in 2 matches for the Peruvian Under-23 national football team. Since 2007, Forsyth was inducted into the senior nationa football team, and has made 5 appearances with the team so far.
