In 2000, Martin played with Banik Prievidza team and later on moved to the Czech Republic to play for FK Jablone 97 team prior to joining Sparta Praque in 2002. In 2005-06 season, he managed to score a goal for his club against Dutch giant team, Ajax Amsterdam in the Champions League.

On January 2006, he got purchased by FBK Kaunas team and instantly got loaned to Heart of Midlothian, a Scottish team. Martin successfully made 5 appearances for the Edinburgh club and returned to FBK Kaunas. After his release from the team in 2006, he signed for U.S, Lecce team, where he made his debut with a 3-1 victory over AlbinoLeffe team in 2006. By January 2007, he ultimately moved on loan basis to Treviso team.

Some of the major teams that Martin played for include Banik Prievidza (1998-2000), FK Jablonec 97 (2000-02), Sparta Praha (2002-06), Heart of Midlothian (2006), Lecce (2006-07), Treviso (2007) and Triestina (2007-09). The maximum appearances was 74 appearances that he made for Sparta Prague team with six goals.
