THe Swiss Super League, also known as the Axpo Super League, is the highest football division of Switzerland. It was founded in 1897 and is one of the developing domestic leagues in European football.

The Swiss Super League is comprised of 10 clubs. The bottom club is automatically relegated from the Super League to the Challenge League while the second last team goes into a play-off with the runners-up of the Challenge League.

Grasshopper Club are the most successful club in the Swiss Super League. They have won the league no fewer than 27 times. Servette FC are the second most successful club of Switzerland and have been the champions of the nation 17 times. Reigning champions FC basel are the third most successful club with 12 league titles to their credit.
