Benfica might rue not scoring an away goal in Turkey last week but I take them to get the better of Fenerbahce on Thursday in their Europa League semi-final.
Benfica were clear favourites for this tie before their 1-0 reversal in the first leg and they have more than enough in their armoury to overturn the narrowest of deficits.
Still unbeaten domestically in Portugal all term, Jorge Jesus’s side are a class act and have really impressed on their run to the last four of this competition.
The former European Cup Winners’ home record has been outstanding this term and, having conceded just four goals in their previous ten matches in all competitions in Lisbon, should be confident of shutting out the visitors.
A goal for Fenerbahce would spell trouble for Benfica but with the likes of Lima and Oscar Cardozo leading the line the hosts certainly have the firepower to find the net at least three times themselves if required and Thursday’s underdogs are far from convincing travellers.
It was Egemen Korkmaz’s second half goal that gave Aykut Kocaman’s side the advantage after 90 minutes but there is a long way to go and Fenerbahce have not won in three matches on the road.
In fact, it is just six away wins in 15 Super Lig games all term and Fenerbahce have not faced opponents of the calibre of Benfica in that time.
I thought the Primeira Liga leaders would be closer to the 1.70 to qualify and therefore the 2.00 on offer at Coral should be snapped up.
