Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer may have helped his side clinch the Bundesliga over the weekend but insists he won’t be happy unless they win more titles this season.
The Bavarians clinched the Bundesliga crown with Saturday’s 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt maintaining their advantage at 20 points from second-placed Borussia Dortmund with six games to play.
However, Bayern are also preparing for their UEFA Champions League quarter-final second-leg against Juventus, having won the first leg 2-0 in Munich, and are in the DFB Pokal semifinals where they’ll face Wolfsburg.
“It was a cool feeling when the title was finally sealed. I was over the moon. Nobody has to talk about Juve right now,” Neuer said.
“We are all aware how important the game is, but you have to be human and savour the moment. We have done it after only 28 games. Nobody thought we are capable of doing so. You have to be proud of what the team and the coaching staff has achieved.
“Until now it is a very good season. We can proud of what we have shown in the league. If this remains our only title we will, however, all be disappointed.”
