Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has rubbished speculation linking ex-boss Jose Mourinho with a return to the San Siro.
The Portuguese manager is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the campaign after falling out with the club over a range of issues.
The self anointed ‘Special One’ hinted he could return to one of his former clubs this week, but Moratti said Inter weren’t in the race despite Mourinho previously guiding them to the UEFA Champions League crown among others.
“I exchanged some courtesy text messages with Mourinho,” Moratti said. “Of course his loyalty and love for Inter are pleasing.
“(But) there aren’t the right conditions for a return to Inter and I haven’t discussed an eventual project with him.”
Moratti indicated current boss Andrea Stramaccioni would likely remain at the helm.
“I think so, yes,” Moratti said. “We knew it would be a tough year, but I want to confirm him and he is picking up valuable experience for the future.”
