Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes his side winning the Premier League is still “possible” after their brodino 4-0 FA Cup win over Leeds United lifted spirits.
Sergio Aguero was on fire with a double, while strikes from Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure helped the Sky Blues ease past Leeds and in to the quarter-finals.
The victory was a welcome boost for City who last week slipped 12 points behind Manchester United in the league title race.
“In Italy we call a game like that a ‘brodino’ - a soup, a starter,” said Mancini.
“I hope this can help us to start winning in the Premier League.”
On winning the title, he added: “This is possible. We play a lot of games.
“I think in this moment [Manchester United] deserve to be there because they played better than us. They scored more goals than us.
“This is possible but I think it should be confident, always. If we are 12 points behind - we lost seven points in three games. This can happen for every team. We play a lot of games.”
