Turkish giants Galatasaray have officially lodged a bid for former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba according to the Ivorian’s management agency.
The 34-year-old forward, who guided Chelsea to the 2012-13 UEFA Champions League before moving to Shanghai Shenhua, is reportedly unhappy in China despite a massive salary and 18 months remaining on his contract.
And Galatasaray are allegedly set to swoop, with a spokesperson for Drogba’s managing Sports PR Company telling PA Sport: “They have made a formal bid for him.”
Only last week the Turkish champions completed a stunning deal for Inter Milan and Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder as they underline their ambition.
It is unclear whether the move would be a loan or a permanent switch to the Turkish club, who will meet Schalke 04 in the final 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
