Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has claimed French big spenders Paris Saint-Germain have tabled a €45 million bid for Brazilian starlet Lucas Moura.
Moratti made the revelation speaking to Sky Sport Italia, labelling the bid for the 19-year-old Sao Paulo midfielder “illogical”.
The in-demand midfielder has been chased by English giants Manchester United as well, while Moratti ruled Inter out of the chase given the money being offered by PSG’s cashed-up Qatari owners.
“We would never have gone up to that sum,” Moratti told Sky Sport Italia.
“In any case, there are no regrets that we didn’t finish off the move, as the cost was already pretty high a few days ago.
“The €45 million that PSG offered is completely illogical and for us it would have been very out of key with our approach.
“PSG are starting a new era, so they are completely reconstructing the squad. At least I can relish the fact I’m saving money.”
