Italian champions Juventus have won the race to the prized signature of Arsenal striker Robin van Persie according to agent Fabio Parisi.
The agent, who is well known in Italy and has clients such as Taye Taiwo and Johnny Heitinga, made the claim in the Italian press, stating the deal is done.
Van Persie has been pursued by several clubs including Manchester City and Manchester United as well as Juventus following his revelation that he won’t sign a new deal with Arsenal when his current contract expires at the end of the 2012-13 season due to their lack of ambition.
And Parisi now said the Dutchman’s deal to Juventus, who went undefeated during the 2011-12 season as they clinched the Scudetto, is done.
“I think Juventus have had a signed contract with Van Persie for some time locked away in a notary’s desk,” Parisi said.
“It is just my opinion but I think there is an eight out of 10 chance the Dutchman will join the Bianconeri. Juventus want to win and he is considered the ideal addition to achieve that.”
