Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has admitted he’d love to see Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie in sky blue after stating he’d be an “incredible addition” for the champions.
The Gunners’ Dutch striker has an unclear future at the Emirates Stadium, with City understood to be interested in his services. And Kompany helped build the speculation by admitting Van Persie would be a great signing for the Sky Blues.
“A player like this would be an incredible addition to any team that he joined, his movement is near perfection and the stats show his finishing,” Kompany told reporters. “He has led by example at Arsenal so, yes, he is a great player.”
The Belgian hailed Van Persie’s recent improvement, with his 2011-12 season landing him the Premier League’s top individual award.
“He’s a player who has improved so much. I started playing against him five or six years ago, but his performances last season were unbelievable,” he said.
