Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has slammed Luka Modric for failing to be part of the side’s pre-season tour of USA as he seeks a move away from White Hart Lane.
The Croatian midfielder is reportedly being chased by Manchester United and Real Madrid, although Spurs have slapped a 35 million pound price tag on him.
Modric has now opted to miss Tottenham’s pre-season tour of the US, where they are due to play three games and Villas-Boas was furious with the decision.
“I think Modric is wrong. This will go against him. He has worsened the situation with what he’s doing and now the chairman is very angry,” he told AS.
“This is also not a good time for Daniel Levy, who is in the USA at the moment, because his wife is ill.”
He added: “He will be a big loss. He’s a player who can make the difference, who gives a lot of clarity to the play when the team needs it and who can play in several positions.”
