Former Barcelona and Tottenham managers Josep Guardiola and Harry Redknapp have both been confirmed among five candidates for the Russian national team job.
Russia are looking for a new boss following the departure of Dick Advocaat following their disappointing 2012 European Championships campaign where they crashed out at the group stage despite a bright 4-1 opening win over Czech Republic.
Guardiola, who left Barca at the end of last season, along with Redknapp, who was sacked by Spurs last month, are among the candidates as well as Rafa Benitez, Fabio Capello and Luciano Spalletti.
Benitez is a former boss of Liverpool, Valencia and Inter Milan, while Capello’s most recent post was as England coach. Spalletti, who has spent time with Zenit St Petersburg, recently said it’d be an honour to take the job.
Russia is currently 13th in the world according to the Fifa rankings.
