Manchester United have been in talks with club to get in Sneijder but so far, none of the talks have been successful. Inter’s CEO Ernesto Paolillo also said that on Wednesday that Manchester United will not be the only club they will consider and that they are open to any major bids for Sneijder.

Manchester United have already brought in the likes of David de Gea, Phil Jones and Ashley Young in this transfer season in place of Edwin van der Sar and Gary Neville. They have been looking for a replacement for Paul Scholes and so far, Sneijder has been tipped to be a replacement. However, Ferguson has kept mum about the possibility and it remains to be seen whether Sneijder will actually make it to the club.

Ferguson said, “Well, we always try to improve. But at this moment there is nothing concrete,”

It has also been rumoured that Manchester United have allowed a period of one week for Sneijder to decide on whether or not he wanted to join the club. Although the talks between the two clubs, Manchester United and Inter Milan, have been informal so far, it has been said that there are issues with the player’s wages.

Sneijder has a tax-free income at his current club and Manchester United may not be able to match that.

Sneijder could come into the side for Dimitar Berbatov, who may join Paris-based side, Saint-Germain. This was suggested by Ferguson after a journalist asked him on whether Berbatov could join PSG. Ferguson said, “Yes, absolutely, no problem.”

Ferguson also said that he should have got in former goal-keeper Van der Sar earlier in his career. He said that Van der Sar had an excellent career and that the side should have gone after the Dutch goal-keeper after Peter Schmeichel departed the scenes. Ferguson added that Van der Sar should consider joining the club in some other capacity after taking one year off.
