Football’s world governing body FIFA have announced the final five players for the FIFA World Player of the Year 2009 award and all five of them currently play in La Liga.

Lionel Messi>

The five players are Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta and Real Madrid’s Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.

All the five players currently feature in the Spanish Primera Division although Kaka and Ronaldo played for AC Milan and Manchester United respectively last season.
