Argentine star [Lionel Messi]] has signed a new deal that will see him stay on at Catalan giants FC Barcelona until 2016.
Messi has sign a two-year contract extension and will now stay at Camp Nou until 2016. He is also supposed to earn somewhere between 10 and 12 million euros per year and this makes him the highest paid footballer on the planet, surpassing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Messi’s release clause is now a whooping 250 million euros and the player himself insists that he is not going to leave Camp Nou ever.
The 22-year-old told Barca TV:
“I would like to finish here in Barcelona. [I want] to play my whole career here, if it’s possible.”
