Italian powerhouse Juventus have confirmed the signing of their former hero Fabio Cannavaro.

Cannavaro joined Spanish powerhouse and European giants Real Madrid in the summer of 2006 from Juventus on a three-year contract. But the Italian World Cup winner have been under par in these three years and the Madrid giants expressed reluctance to extend his current contract.
His former club Juventus have now confirmed that they have re-signed their former idol on a free transfer. A statement on the club’s official website reads:
“Fabio Cannavaro again with Juventus from July. Juventus football club has deposited the contract of Fabio Cannavaro which will run from July 1, 2009 until June 30, 2010. As noted, the player’s contract with Real Madrid expires on June 30 2009.”
