Sevilla FC right-back Daniel Alves has been wrestling with his club president Jose Maria Del Nido since last summer to wriggle himself out of the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and on more than one occasion has revealed his intension to switch to a bigger club.
Once again the Brazilian international right-back, supposedly the best in the business in the world, has restated his desire to move away from the club in the summer. Alves says that to develop himself further, he needs to step to a bigger club and also remarks that he is ready to do that.
Alves told the Madrid-based sports daily Marca:
“We know the president and how he likes things to be done and therefore it is necessary to respect his words, just as I think differently and must respect my own mentality. I have become accustomed to this in the five years I have been here and I know how the subject goes. I have my own clear objectives.
“I am used to hearing the same speculation. I always said that I do not like the lies and prefer to concentrate on what is true. I want to improve and if I need to move away from Sevilla to do that I would feel for the supporters that love me, while those who don’t will probably be glad to see me leave.”
Well, Alves is being cryptic but you do get his main point anyway: that he does want to move away from the Pizjuan at the end of the current season. Earlier this week Spanish news reports suggested that FC Barcelona have already reached an agreement with Alves while Chelsea continue to hover around.
